World-renowned Researchers will speak on critical issues that affect our food supply and public health.

About the Speakers

Don Huber, PhD

Don Huber, PhD, is Professor Emeritus of Plant Pathology at Purdue University, West Lafayette, Indiana. His agricultural research the past 50 years has focused on the epidemiology and control of soil-borne plant pathogens with emphasis on microbial ecology, cultural and biological controls, and physiology of host-parasite relationships. His research also includes nitrogen metabolism, micronutrient physiology, inhibition of nitrification, and nutrient-disease interactions.

Michael Antoniou, PhD

Dept of Medical and Molecular Genetics Kings College School of Medicine, London, author of “GMO Myths and Truths” is reader in molecular genetics and head of Gene Expression and Therapy Group, King’s College London School of Medicine, London, UK. He has 28 years’ experience in the use of genetic engineering technology investigating gene organization and control, with over 40 peer reviewed publications of original work, and holds inventor status on a number of gene expression biotechnology patents. Dr Antoniou has a large network of collaborators in industry and academia who are making use of his discoveries in gene control mechanisms for the production of research, diagnostic and therapeutic products and safe and efficacious human somatic gene therapy for inherited and acquired genetic disorders.

Professor of Molecular Biology at the University of Caen, France, Laboratory of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. Professor Seralini was one of the very first to demand a European commercial moratorium on agricultural GMOs for further research. Appointed member of two governmental commissions on GMOs (the Biomolecular Engineering Commission (CGB) in charge of risk assessment, and the Biovigilance Committee assessing GMOs after they have been commercialized) in 1998. President of the CRII-GEN Scientific Board (Committee of Independent Research and Information on Genetic Engineering) since 1999. Was appointed in 2003 as an expert for the European Commission to prepare the defense case in the dispute between the United-States/Argentina/Canada (who produce 95% of the GMO’s) and the European Union about the moratorium on commercial GMO. Professor Seralini published in November 2003 "Génétiquement incorrect" Flammarion and in 2004 "Ces OGM qui changent le monde", (Collection Champs, Flammarion) and recentily "Après-nous le déluge ?" (Flammarion/Fayard). He wrote over 100 scientific articles and conference papers for international specialist symposiums, and a number of lectures with a nation-wide impact, he assumes several roles in the Commissions of the University of Caen, where he is leading a research team associated to CNRS (French National Centre for Scientific Research) and INRA.

Jeffrey M. Smith

Jeff Smith is the international bestselling author of Seeds of Deception and Genetic Roulette, and the leading spokesperson on the health dangers of genetically modified organisms (GMOs). He documents how the world’s most powerful ag-biotech companies bluff and mislead critics and put the health of society at risk. A riveting keynote speaker and popular guest on TV shows worldwide, Mr. Smith has counseled world leaders from every continent, campaigned to end the use of genetically engineered bovine growth hormone (rbGH or rbST), and influenced the first state laws in the United States regulating GMOs.
